His leadership and extensive experience in infrastructure and national policy make him a key figure in Malaysia’s efforts to advance a resilient, sustainable and future-ready water and energy ecosystem.

This keynote speech highlights has identified Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction as a key national priority towards strengthening Malaysia’s water security and infrastructure resilience. Under PETRA, Malaysia is intensifying efforts to reduce NRW through ageing pipeline replacement, improved monitoring, smart technologies, targeted investments and stronger collaboration between the Federal Government, State Governments, SPAN and water operators. He has also highlighted the need for new financing and business models, including greater private-sector participation, to accelerate NRW reduction and improve the sustainability of Malaysia’s water sector. Malaysia targets reducing NRW to approximately 28.8% by 2030.
