MALCOLM FARLEY
Malcolm is a chartered engineer (CEng), a chartered environmentalist (CEnv), a chartered water and environment manager (C.WEM), and a Fellow of CIWEM. He is a long-standing member of the International Water Association (IWA), and the Secretary of the IWA Water Loss Specialist Group.
Malcolm has 40 years experience of working with water supply and distribution networks worldwide, working for the UK Water Research Centre (WRc) for 25 years, and, for the last 25 years of his career, specialising in water loss management and leakage control.
He left WRc in 1994 to form his own consultancy, Malcolm Farley Associates. Since then he has worked on many NRW reduction projects worldwide. As a consultant for water utilities and other institutions, including Asian Development Bank, World Bank and World Health Organisation, he specializes in conducting water audits, developing and implementing NRW reduction strategies and training workshops for water utilities worldwide. He is co-author of the IWA book - ‘Losses in Water Distribution Networks’ – A Practitioner’s Guide to Assessment, Monitoring and Control, ‘The Manager’s NRW Handbook’ – a best practice manual aimed at supporting Asian water utility managers.
